Chapter 51 - How Things End

I came back the next day, following a read through of when Fyntn found out about my reality core binding to a seed of thought. It was a fun time, but now was no time at all. I sat at the controls again, in some sort of temporal bubble that Akier somehow had a way of manipulating. Last time, I heard him whispering in my ear, but only after I wound time back. The ten-cut still blazed white light on a frozen scene, as I hesitated over the orb to wind time back. There had to be a way to rewind time to before Akier was realized in Tarne. If only Fyntn could assist me here. He had to be familiar with this setup. I tried winding time back again, this time not moving from the spot in the library that I hovered. Tarne wound back to before the lunge, and Fyntn got put back together, but Akier did not walk back upstairs backwards like before. Instead, he just sat on the couch again, this time grinning like mad. I flew closer to see if he knew where I was again, but he just kept looking ahead, gri...

Chapter 50 - The Ten-Cut

I came back the next day, from a downpour of rain outside that cooled my mind down. It felt like I put obstacles in front of myself just to trip over them, but this was at an end. If anything, I wanted Kara to be happy again. Maybe I could even reverse Tarne growing up inside Garr. Kara and Lila could head off into the other worlds with child Tarne, living on the run from the Rahin. I would be a decoy in that scenario, allowing the destruction of this space, which I knew was coming anyways. Waiting to die was a truly depressing way to live. Even after I promised Rebecca I would seek happiness. Part of me never trusted her, or rather the Rebecca on the computer screen who told me she went to talk to Alexander Virtu. It did not matter. Lila’s and Kara’s happiness was paramount. I appeared in the library out of a puff of smoke to find it empty. My antics were wasted. I walked up the stairs to see if Kara and Lila were still at Tarne’s bedside. When I reached the top step, the door to the ...

Chapter 8 - Eyes Of Gold

I came back the next day, the evening hours of Sunday in the first week of April. Lila was in the library, setting up some sort of circle on the wooden floor that had something of an alchemy or sorcery feel to it by scratching it into the the floor. I had to wonder where she got the idea for it, as none of the stories I gave her had that sort of theme. At least the parts I gave her had nothing of it. No, it might have been Faelight . The old and forgotten magic that had not been used must have resurfaced later in the story. “Hey,” I said. Lila turned from the line she was carving, and jumped into the air like some fort of ninja or acrobat. “Oh, it’s just you, Jack,” she said, lowering the knife in her hand. “Thought it was him again.” “Again?” I asked. “Did the guy from the untethered space try to come in here or something?” “He WAS in here,” Lila said, standing up while tossing the knife spinning into the air. Her other hand caught the handle from the air gracefully. “The library is k...

Chapter 11 - Find Me

The next day, I was back at the notebook with a wicked stomachache, and could only look back at what could have caused it. I even considered not showing up, but Rebecca would be upset after I’d already made plans to be here. As such, I was at the notebook, but not yet in the library. Thanks to JJ’s idea, Rebecca was notified when I entered, but my original idea was to be there unseen, to see how she acted when I wasn’t around. The problem was the childish and pure mind of JJ, but I was glad that Rebecca didn’t turn into my own personal porn channel. I had a feeling beast would one day hijack my mind and make her encounter an intense amount of sexual situations. In this manner, Redbecca took care of his desires. He stirred at the thought, and I entered the library for a dose of crotch-to-face upload. but Rebecca wasn’t there. Only Mr. Barcode sat on the desk in a strange position. His arms were bent to degrees humans could not achieve. I was about to speak, but Barc readjusted himself ...
