The Flowers of Legend
Shining Eves- Flaming Goldester
At the end of the long summer that burns so bright and warm, a flower blossoms to progress the season into fall. On the night of the first day of autumn, this flower blooms where no human can possibly see it. The closed bud is golden and shivering in the cooling night breeze on its light green stem. The glow from the inside can be seen very lightly seen through the golden petals.
As midnight approaches the bud starts to open letting a waft of sweet summer air roll over the field of dried crops. The moon beckons the flower to bloom, but the flower takes its time. Slowly the golden petals shaped as flames open and let a golden light shine on the field of wheat swaying in the night breeze.
The moon looks at the flower with one eye closed as the petals peel into layers of thinnest golden leaves imaginable. The leaves slowly break off from the flower and are taken up by a sudden gust of wind. The golden leaves are carried for a few feet and then disintegrate into glittering ash.
This flower welcoming the start of fall and giving a final farewell to the summer’s days is called a “Flaming Goldester” and is of course one of the “Shining Eves”, flowers that bloom where no human can see to progress each season smoothly into the next. With a final farewell the Flaming Goldester wilts as the midnight time passes beginning the rainy days of autumn for the year.
Shining Eves- Fleeting Crownblossom
The first day of summer is soon approaching as trees sway on the cooling breezes of spring less and less. The sun nears its closest peak to the earth and soon starts to heat everyone during those days. The schools end for the season as happy children run toward pools and lakes to cool off. Birds are finding mates and settling down to a nest full of young. The sun starts to beat the earth more and more each day.
The first day of summer is here but not before the last night of spring. The night progresses smoothly as the trees sway in the nightly breezes. All blades of grass kneel as the gust of wind passes majestically. The midnight is soon nearing.
In a lonely place where no human man, woman or child should be in the middle of the night sprouts a green glowing flower. Yet there is a man sitting on the blades of grass under a weeping willow with a lowered gaze. His dark hair hangs from his head as the branches hang from the weeping willow. Great sadness resides in the man’s heart.
Summer is beginning, a season for ease and enjoyment yet a man with a saddened heart sits under a willow tree, weeping. The watch on the man’s wrist beeps midnight as a green glow is cast at him through the tree branches. The man doesn’t realize it at first, but then get to his knees and crawls like a baby to the light. The green light now glows on his face as he watches the long green petals unfurl and spread out as if a crown of green. He wishes for a closer look, to touch it, but he no longer has the strength to crawl on his hands and knees to the glowing flower. The man is a man no longer, but a naked babe wrapped in weeping willow branches for a cocoon. A tiny green loop on the baby’s face under his left eye signifies a rebirth.
This flower that signals the last day of the spring and ushers the summer’s days is called “Fleeting Crownblossom” and is one of the “Shining Eves”, flowers that transition the seasons smoothly. Without them a year would be in chaos, but they cannot be ever seen by human eye. As the midnight passes the Fleeting Crownblossom wilts and gives a blessing onto the child.
As per celebration of summer newlyweds take a hike through a forest not known by them before. The female hears a baby’s cry and rushes to the origin of the sound. There wrapped in weeping willow branches she finds a boy with a green loop under his left eye.
Shining Eves – Tendering Rainlotus
On the last night of each autumn a flower blossomed among the wilted leaves wet with the rain that grayed the sky during the day. As the bud was closed that very night before midnight it looked as if it was a big rain droplet. The translucent red and yellow petals were shaped as raindrops and sat cozily on a blue crown-like structure while connected to the stem. The seconds to midnight counted down as the petal started to open.
The nights and days were starting to get colder as all the leaves were now detached from the usual trees. Most days were covered by the gray sky and it rained more and more. Soon it was going to snow, but not before this flower bloomed. This flower was called “Tendering Rainlotus” and was one of the known yet never seen by human eye “Shining Eves.” These flowers chose to bloom where they couldn’t be seen my any human to preserve their uniqueness.
As the midnight began the flower started to open. Red glow was cast on the bed of wet wilted leaves on the ground. The red mingled with the browns and the yellows as the flower opened its raindrop petals. Sprinkle of yellow mist escaped the flower into the air and dissipated soon. After a couple seconds the sir glowed yellow as the yellow mist mingled with the water content of the air and created a fluorescent reaction. The yellow and red lights mended and cast an orange spotlight where the slore stood now open.
The bed of wet brown leaves instantly dried and started to crumple into nothingness, into dust. The dust had a glowing red color that faded every minute. The yellow light faded as the Tendering Rainlotus dried out and wilted. As the last petal of the flower fell the sun started to come up on the first official day of winter.
The “Shining Eves” played a big role in translating from one season to the other, without ever being seen by the human eye.
Shining Eves: Weeping Silversea
A blue light of the moon danced on its petals as the breeze swayed the bug on its silver stem. The flower gave off an aura in the night surpassing any reflection of the water surface. In the dark forest swishing wind was heard as it brushed its fingers through the leaves on the trees. The dead trees clacked as the wind hit their branches against each other. The sky was clear of clouds and revealed a magnificent sky filled with stars. The moon shone the most in the sky applying a blue light to everything that was visible in the dark forest.
The shining flower stood in a meadow lit with bluest grass surrounded by the dark trees of the forest. The bud started to quiver and slowly opened revealing the inside of the petals. The petals had wave patterns on them, swirls, and stars. It was as if the petals were a portal to the sea that waited in the darkness. The blue silver light glowed bright in the dark forest as the wildlife that should have been sleeping gathered on the meadow and gazed at the flower. The night that fed the flower with moonlight was soon ending and the flower started to close its petals.
As the last of the bluish silver light faded from the meadow the animals slowly returned to the forest to sleep till sun came out and begun the spring. The flower that blossomed only once a year at the last night of winter was called the “Weeping Silversea” as its petals resembled wide open seas and oceans under clear skies full of stars. That one single blossom sustained the seasons pass. The flowers that favored a smooth transition of season were called the “Shining Eves.” As the seasons changed and years flew by, each of these flowers did their job to transition seasons. Never to be seen by human eye.
