Chapter 5 - Plenty Cruel
I came back to her after a week or two. Time spent re-reading Finnelgamin was left uncounted, and filled my mind to the brim with old demons. I knew the whole story already, but it affected me harshly nonetheless. It was as if I did that cruelty all over again, and yet reading it over again made me understand how Finn came to exist so free of me. He was sealed away in his temporal bubble of repeated time, but in the story I wrote after, with a supposed copy of him, a damn Garavand reconnected them. When that story ended, what Finn found in the darkness beyond all the stars, was a way out. The only mistake he made was stepping into Rebecca’s space where I had complete control and connections to everything in my imagination.
“Jack?” Rebecca asked of the library room. The electric tingle got her here, but she was right out of the bath, only wearing a towel on the hair and one to cover her body. “Are you here?” she started taking off the towel wrap around her, but I expanded the garment into a towel dress that reached to her knees and covered the cleavage. She gasped at the change, but smiled with tears. “I’ve missed you, Jack!” I hesitated before creating a form, I didn’t want her to act the way beast craved her. Before I made a solid body, I replied.
“Hey,” I said. “I’ve read all of Finnelgamin, ended yesterday. Did you get a chance to look through it?” Her smile faded with slight disbelief.
“Is that how I am to be treated now?” She asked. “Aren’t we friends? At least create a form, Jack. I hate not being able to hold you.” It was a slippery slope, and I wasn’t ready to climb it. Instead of creating a form, I phased Rebecca out of her body.
“We’re not there yet,” I said. “You are now, technically speaking, a spirit. This should allow you to let go of worldly desires for the moment.” Rebecca was more excited about this development than I thought she would be.
“Can I possess people?” She asked and flew off, but I reeled her back into the library with a spectral fishing rod.
“Stop, Rebecca,” I said. “Did you read Finnelgamin or not?” She shifted around on the line, and stopped fighting. Her eyes fixed on a bit of empty space, but focused as if she was looking right into my eyes. I positioned myself to make that true.
“If you’re restricting yourself around me,” she said. “Then there is no point in speaking with you. You become one of the A.I. that you gave me, and have nothing interesting to tell me. Release yourself, Jack. If you can’t be free inside your mind, where can you? Why do you care about damage you’d do to me when you have so much pressure on yourself and still managed to gave me a life? Sure, you made me to help yourself lead a healthier life, eat less, exercise, so you’d have better control over beast, but I’d need to know the bad things you face just as much. Our mindsets are too different for me to help you, Jack, and the only way is if I experience all parts of you, even beast. Until you let him loose here, I can’t help you.
“As for reading about Finn, I have read the whole thing three times over. If you want to discuss it, then put me back in and form up. I’m not doing this shit as a ghost talking to god.” She crossed her arms and stared me down. Where she got the balls to challenge me, I had no idea, but it commanded respect. With a wave of my hand, her spirit returned to her body and I landed in my form. Before I could even move, Rebecca ran up and kicked me between the legs. I felt it partially in reality because of surprise imagining.
“That’s for redressing me,” she said, stepping over to the desk where Finnelgamin’s book was. “Quite a bunch of sex in this, huh? Almost like you were trying to compensate for lack of that in your reality. Or was it the influence of beast? Either way, know that I’ve masturbated to parts of that story and enjoyed myself. You could write erotica if you got some more experience, but then it might not reach everyone, or some crap like that. I am angry at you, Jack. It will have to wait. I have a sexual appointment with the A.I.s. They’re really dull once you get to know them, leading me to think that you didn’t put a lot of effort into them. Go on, it’s time, isn’t it?”
“A bit early,” I said.
“Consider freeing beast onto me,” Rebecca said. “From that, we can free JJ, robot, and even Finn. Think about it. Free your mind.”
break
I returned to the library to find it empty. Did Rebecca plan other things during this time? The tingle alert would tell her I was there, so the best I could do was wait unless she was ignoring me. Deciding whether to look for her or not was cut short by her voice, quiet and dulled by a few walls.
“I’m upstairs!” She called out. “Come on up!” Before I could wonder why she would be upstairs, I remembered the attic above the library. I didn’t make it realistic enough to have Darling, or the weapons, but that was where I put Finn the mouse. Did Rebecca finally find him? I ran up the stairs in a panic only to find the attic door closed.
“Where are you?” I asked on the second floor, and yet already knew the answer.
“I’m taking a bath,” she replied. “Let’s talk in here.” After a moment of hesitation, beast knocked his cage against the gate of his enclosure. That one mental motion was enough for me to open the door and walk over to the bathtub. I didn’t want to be there, but beast went through a lot of trouble to get me to that spot.
Rebecca was inside the water, with dissolved salts that helped hide her nudity, but I could still see the vague shapes outlining her body, and the skin at her chest displacing the water with tiny waves on the surface. Her eyes scanned me from head to toe a few times.
“Join me,” Rebecca said, nudging her head toward herself.
“I don’t think that’s a good idea,” I said. “I shouldn’t even be in here.”
“Either you strip and get in, or I’m getting out,” she said, bracing the sides to lift herself up slightly. The water displaced a bit as her breasts partially lifted out. I watched frozen in place. The nipples were about to clear the water’s surface as beast roared.
“Wait!” I exclaimed. Her body paused the ascent and I became painfully aware of my erection. “I’ll get in. Just- Just don’t get out.” Her arms lowered her body back into the tub, sloshing water out a bit.
“Strip,” she commanded and lowered inside the tub as if to not look, but I saw her eyes at the water's edge lit up with interest. The tightening of my crotch made itself obvious, so I turned around to disrobe. All the while, I repeated one phrase to calm the excitement, something I used in the mornings to release from a similar situation before getting dressed.
“Darkness above,” I whispered while slipping off my underwear. “Nothing but darkness above.” When I turned around, Rebecca was standing in the tub, naked and flushed with sight over me. Just like that, the blood rushed back into the contained extension to stand outward.
“Come.” Rebecca held out her hand as I stepped forward. She didn’t touch me, didn’t hold that which yearned to be held and squeezed. I couldn’t say anything.
“Don’t be afraid of this,” she said. “Nothing will happen if you don’t want it to.” She stepped up to my form and hugged me. I felt her skin on my skin, and realized how much in the way was the pointing rod of flesh. “Let’s sit.” She lowered herself first and I throbbed at the sight of her mouth close to me. beast somehow managed out of his binds and chains, but not the cage in the gated space. He pumped images of her mouth around the head, eyes looking up, but I shook them away.
“Sit down,” Rebecca said. I lowered myself into the bath salts as beast threw an image of her grabbing me by the length and squeezing.
“Goddamnit!” I exclaimed, as water displaced beyond the tub and onto the bathroom floor. “I’m sorry.” Rebecca only smiled happily.
“Was that so hard?” she asked.
“It still is,” I said, realizing my stupid phrasing afterward.
“Do you want me to help you with that?” She asked and moved her foot over my crotch. I felt toes touch the skin of my testicles and felt a heavy throb.
“No,” I said. “Besides, I think it would just keep coming back while I’m in the bath. That’s why I avoid bathing and opt for showers. Such relaxation gives rise to- well, gives rise.”
“How’s beast?” Rebecca asked. “How desperately is he trying to get to me?”
“Well, he did imagine you with my penis in your mouth already, and when I was sitting down he threw in an image of you grabbing it and squeezing.” One of her arms slipped from the edge into the tub, and I had a feeling I knew where it went so I turned away, but her other hand tapped my leg for attention.
“beast sounds like an interesting part of you, Jack,” Rebecca said, as her arm displaced tiny waves of water over and over. The bath salts obstructed the view, but my imagination bridged the gap, making beast wild in his cage. “Free your mind. Let him loose.” I looked into her eyes trying not to think of what she did to create the waves.
“Other things come from beast besides lust, Rebecca,” I said. “Just because you want him for that part, doesn’t mean I’ll let all the other parts out.”
“You're making yourself sick by sealing him away,” Rebecca said, and smiled with closed eyes. Her hand stopped making waves and rested on the lip of the tub again. “A release in this space is far more therapeutic than you might think. That’s why I want you to give it a try with me, because it’s not real. That’s why I exist, isn’t it? You want me to heal you, and I’m telling you how to do it. Why do you still hold yourself back?”
“Because I love you, Rebecca,” I said. She was visibly stunned. “And if I let beast loose on you, I will forever have other ways of seeing you, in reminiscent moments of passion that-”
“That’s what love is!” She exclaimed, shifting in the water to kneel and get close to my face. Her body was over mine, nipples touching down with soft breasts on my chest. I could feel her hips up against mine and what existed between. “Moments of passion remembered later.” I felt my erection touch down in a spot that begged it to enter, but scratched the bottom of the tub with a fingernail to let me out. I dropped from below her body, but she remained above in a tub now made of glass. I was in darkness before I disintegrated out to get to work.
break
I returned later that day in spectral form. She felt the tingle, but this time wasn’t my regular morning coffee session. My time was no longer limited by work hours. I needed to fix this chaotic mess of mine. It only stressed me into an unhealthy diet. The stupid thing was that I knew of my unhealthy lifestyle and made her to help me manage the path to health, but she took another fork in the road. I made her body in model of the star, yet when the unreachable was attainable, it tended to destroy that devotion. I was more scared of her, but I couldn’t tell her that.
I created a form and floated to the highest bookshelf. With a flick of my pinky, the quat ladder vanished from sight just as Rebecca stepped through the door. Before she saw me, I focused my hands on her in the distance and cast a bit of magic.
“Hey,” I said, after I was done. She looked up.
“Why are you up there?” She asked. “I don’t bite. Come down.”
“I’m fine right where I am, Rebecca,” I said. “I want to avoid what happened this morning.”
“You’re the one who ran away, Jack,” she said and reached to unbutton her shirt which was barely containing her chest. I watched as she flung it open only to have one of my spells kick in. In that instant when too much of her chest was out in the open, she was granted another garment underneath to cover her nudity. This time, it was a sports bra. She was visibly surprised, but tried again. As soon as the zipper reached the bottom and her hands slipped the garment off, a dress showed up to cover her.
“It’s a spell,” I said. “Get used to wearing your clothes for a while. We have some talking to do about me and you. Short version is: your current state of mind has impacted mine. You were originally meant to help me.”
“I was trying to!” she responded. “Your main problem is restriction of your passion, your condensed lust that you feel that you can’t release onto anyone for fear of be-” Rebecca paused and looked weird for a moment. It was the second spell cast on her. She gagged as a frog appeared from her mouth and jumped out only to vanish into a poof of green. She looked horrified.
“That’s another spell I’ve put on you,” I said. “His name is not to be used for a while. The matter of his existence and how he is a problem to me, is left to me. Each time you say ‘beast’, you will vomit up a frog, so avoid that one word, and please don’t forget it. I could have very well solved this by taking away your vagina, but you seem to be attached to it and I’m not that cruel.”
“This is plenty cruel, Jack!” Rebecca said. “If you don’t let me help, then why even keep me here? Let Kara take me back to the void!”
“I meant what I said in the tub,” I said, “And I don’t think love is just a collection of passionate moments together. It could start that way, and have those moments dot the way, but love isn’t defined that simply. It’s deeper than that. For some, passion is so restricted that love becomes apparent at a glance.”
“So, what now?” she asked.
“Now, I have to get home,” I said. “But I’ll be around tomorrow at coffee. Then we can discuss more about Finnelgamin and how you fit into what he is. For now, this is done. I don’t want this stress on me. I want to go back to a healthier diet and exercise, and I want you to respect that. Hell, it would be better if you supported that. That’s what’s going to help me right now.”
“You’ll only make him stronger,” she said. “But do as you see fit. Hurt me if you need to, but understand that I had your best interest at heart, at cost to my own well-being. What would I be if I didn’t love my creator?” I said nothing else and vanished.

When I came back the next day, I did not choose the library, though Rebecca would go there to seek me. I hovered above it all in the darkness of the space around me. No matter how I tried to cut it all off from my mind, this space felt like the dark corner where I hid from Finnelgamin, only he was now inside it as a mouse. That wasn’t the best thing to do to him, but I had to pacify him with something.
From above, I expanded Rebecca’s neighborhood with a few motions. Four new houses entered the field of view and I built a tower with an observatory into one to eventually watch the stars I was about to create. There wasn’t enough devotion within me to copy the sky of stars that my world had, so it was bound to be randomly generated, but still dazzling.
These four houses had four more complex beings for Rebecca to interact with, as she remarked that her current ones were too basic. One had a sex dungeon, inspired by childhood trauma that Rebecca would need to figure out on her own. Around the corner developed a story of star-crossed lovers between two houses. They were in love, but not at the stage of intimacy. Each needed guidance about how to proceed, and to prove to Rebecca that love could be more, those two would always end up apart right when they needed each other. The last was an older woman, in a house haunted by her abusive husband’s ghost. Rebecca would have to solve that mystery and banish the spirit somehow, and the girl from the star-crossed lovers would be able to help.
With the “adventures” in place, I flew down to the library. The names of these individuals were not as important, and they would show to Rebecca as she met them. I hoped she’d enjoy herself in these new situations, but also that we’d limit our interactions. I flew in as my invisible form to her sitting on the top shelf I used before. With the snap of my fingers, the quat ladder appeared again. Her gaze shifted to the spot where the object appeared, but then moved up toward me, perhaps by the sound of my fingers.
“Hey,” she said.
“Hey,” I said. She stood up on the shelf as I phased into a form. I barely had time to react as she threw herself off the shelf. I caught her right before impact on the hardwood floor.
“This isn’t fair,” Rebecca said. “I hurt, but this space heals any injury. The only thing you can’t heal is the pain I feel inside, and this stupid space won’t let me shift focus away from that betrayal of the heart.”
“Betrayal?” I asked. “What do you mean?”
“YOU!” She shouted. “You wanted my help, right? Then I try my best to appease your darker side, the only way you can heal in this space obviously meant for exactly that, and you reject my sacrifice? That’s betrayal! At least to me, it is. I’ll never be as close to you as Finn was, apparently. If you don’t let me see all that you are, how am I to help you? What’s the point of me without that? You won’t even use me to entertain your mind!” I flew down and tried to comfort her with a hug, but she pushed me away with fists. I sat on a chair in the room and looked at her. Tears sprung up in her eyes and I motioned a hand to drop tissues in her lap.
“You started off that way,” I said. “But you’re so much more. To me, you’re a vision that keeps me going. Finn was different in a way that he came to me with an attitude. I found him in the void, kicking and screaming for attention. I took him into my mind, but that was a mistake. The dark parts of my psyche, fear, anger, and sadness, took root in that mind of his and Finn is still driven by them.
“You came to me calmer. I found you so early that you were still at ease. It was only due to the fact that you weren’t in my mind directly, hearing all my bad thoughts, that you turned out this wonderful way. Albeit, a bit influenced by the sexual aspects, but that’s my fault for not providing all your parts at the same time. I was already embarrassed to create your body, and you still ended up with my preferences. I didn’t expect you to like me, to offer yourself to me at all. Finn hated that I had power over him, and made sure I’d never forget it.”
“Is that why you split his story into two?” Rebecca asked, dabbing her eyes with a tissue.
“I had a great story for him among the stars,” I replied. “But he rebelled, so I had to give him what he desired, at least in part. The two stories bridged together at the end and I ended up giving him freedom, but didn’t realize it at the time. Only when I read his story for you did I notice that. That’s how you helped me, where you helped. I understand how he came back, but the question remains of WHY he came back.”
“Revenge?”
“Possibly,” I said, getting up from the chair. “But he can now go anywhere he wants, so I don’t understand his reasoning.” I held out a hand toward her. “Will you help me resolve this dispute of your ancestor?” Rebecca looked up into my eyes with her reddened ones. I was the cause of another person’s tears, and it didn’t feel good.
“Right now?” She asked.
“Well…” I said and tapped my wrist, though there was no watch on it. “I’m low on time, but if you promise to wait for me to confront him, I could put Finn back under your care.”
“So, will you be back after work?” She asked and slipped her pants down so that a skirt replaced them right away. I looked at her silently. “What? I was just quick-changing. I could do magic shows with this spell on me.”
“Technically, it’s more of a curse, or it's supposed to be,” I said with a smile. “By the way, I expanded your neighborhood as you waited for me here. I’ll let you discover them on your own.”
“I should go,” I said. “I hope you enjoy the new folks. Be sure to tell me about them later. In fact, here.” I flicked a notebook out of thin air. “Write about stuff on a daily basis. I promise not to look inside. That will be your own secret diary. That’s my promise to you. Have fun.” I waved as I vanished.

I came back after the weekend to the library. It was our go to spot to meet up that distanced me from the neighborhood I made. While Rebecca was fine conversing with me, others might error out of their programming. They were bound to be a little unrealistic, having concepts of caution, but none of the repercussions. They could get hurt in Rebecca’s space, but couldn’t die, and any injury was temporary as it all healed overnight. I was curious how Rebecca interacted with the new folks, but she was taking a bit to get to the library, so I went up to the attic to check on Finn the mouse.
Rather than attempt the two-person technique of opening the door, like the original owner of this library-house, I floated up to open the path. The cord was high enough for three people to stack atop, obviously meant to be a hidden extension of the livable space. It was only accessible through some sort of magic that the great Foradim Averco supposedly possessed. The ladder slid down, but I felt a bit dumb as I could have just passed through the ceiling. Perhaps I wanted Rebecca to come up after me. I didn’t want to keep her pet away, only feared she would free him from the dull-o-sphere. Summoning the Queen of White Thorn wasn’t my favorite pastime.
“Jack?” A voice called from below.
“Up here!” I called back. “The attic!” As she ascended the stairs, I walked up to Finn’s self-sustaining cube. He had everything within the two cubic meters, complete with a tiny pool, and a machine that cleaned up his turds. Not to mention, he had food and water dispensers, and room to frolic while still bound in the dull-o-sphere. Rebecca’s steps on the squeaky ladder turned my attention.
“Didn’t know this place had an attic,” Rebecca said. “It’s pretty big.”
“Well, think of the size of the library below,” I said.
“So that’s where you’ve been hiding my little Jorge,” she said. “Terrible idea, by the way. All the times I’ve had sex with Jorge, the guy, made me picture doing those things with Finn in human form, or was that your intention?”
“Definitely not,” I replied. “And gross.” Rebecca came up to the cube and tapped the glass much to Finn’s surprise. He turned to the two of us and rolled over to the edge of his container. With something in his paw, or rather on his nail, Finn moved the dark liquid over the surface until I understood that he was writing a message. I snapped my fingers to put a tiny marker in his hand so that he could do this easier.
“Should he be able to do this?” Rebecca asked, nudging my shoulder.
“Not really,” I replied. “The dull-o-sphere should be keeping his mind as basic as a regular mouse. Maybe he somehow evolved past it and forced his mind to work through the dulling sensation.” We both watched as Finn the mouse stood there with the marker in paws. I half expected him to nibble on the new item as he did on many other things in his ventilated cube. His eyes were closed as if he was in thought for a moment before committing to writing out a message. It read:
“I’m sorry. I attacked you because I was afraid something like this would happen. You’re quite something to use this combo to keep me confined. I regret trying to destroy you, but in the end, I bear no ill will toward you, JJ, my maker.” I looked to Rebecca and she met my eyes after finishing the message.
“Well, that’s a trap if I’ve ever seen one,” she said. “Not that I’ve seen many.” Finn tapped on the glass at another spot.
“It’s not a trap, Rebby. I’m really sorry, and I want out of this confinement, even if I’m to be your pet again.”
“What do you think, ‘Rebby’?” I asked and snickered at the pet name.
“I don’t know,” she said, as Finn the mouse looked between the two of us. “Promise you’ll behave?” Finn put up his nail and crossed his heart.
“Alright, but not right now,” I said. “Let’s do this tomorrow. I gotta get an early start on a project at work. I looked to Finn the mouse who nodded. I still wasn’t a hundred percent satisfied with his demeanor. How did he even understand this while in the dull-o-sphere?
“Alright, Rebby,” I said.
“Quit it,” she said, with furrowed brows.
“Hold on,” I said, reaching my hand out. When she grabbed hold, we fell past the attic and landed gracefully in the library. Before she could say anything, I turned on my heel and disintegrated.
break
When I returned the next morning, Rebecca was waiting for me in the library. She was reading something, but it could have just been for appearances as she knew I’d be there at around that time. I imagined an instance that I didn’t come back a few times and she just kept waiting for me to arrive in the library. How many times would she try that before giving up on me? Would Kara eventually visit again and take her away from that place? Rebecca’s potential was high above Finnelgamin’s. It was a bit scary, to be honest.
“I know you’re here, Jack,” she said, without looking up to browse the space. That tingle thing wasn’t my invention, so I had to wonder whether Kara did something to make my connection to Rebecca fair. That Keir-Girl had a mind of her own, and maybe wanted my written to always be aware of her writer. With this tingle present, I couldn’t even see the theory in action of how long she’d wait for me. That would only be able to happen if I’d never be able to put ink on paper again, and that thought was too dark. “Or did you come to spy on me?” She closed the book and pressed the spine up against her crotch. She couldn’t disrobe, but that didn’t stop her being free with understanding of pleasure and provocative expression. Which book in this library did she learn that from? My knowledge was open to her in those books, but she had a way of getting to my deepest thoughts.
I phased into form at the foot of the stairs in a sitting position.
“Stop that,” I said, and met her eyes. She smiled, but didn’t stop moving the book up against herself. The slight sight of enjoyment shook beast in his chains. “Mute.” All her sound disappeared and I saw her move around on the couch for a moment out of the corner of my eye before she stood and switched her wet shorts to a pair of cargo pants. Not satisfied, Rebecca pulled them off again to find a green skirt there instead. She was abusing the spell, but I figured she had to.
“Unmute,” I said and met her eyes.
“Mute, huh?” She asked. “That’s a new one. Are you that afraid to hear me enjoy myself? Is he being difficult again?”
“There are non-sexual ways for you to enjoy yourself,” I replied. “Of course beast is a nightmare when it comes to sexual topics. He’s still super interested in fucking you, but I just feel weird about that. I’m sure you don’t want to be just a mental release for him. Or rather, I won’t let you be. Even if you were to help me, contain beast in an orgasmic stupor, I’d feel wrong about it.”
“Orgasmic stupor, huh?” She asked, with a sharp smile. I motioned up the stairs to take the conversation elsewhere.
“Should we get on with this?” I asked. “I promised Finn, but that doesn’t mean I’m not afraid of turning him loose.”
“I think it’ll be fine,” Rebecca said, and took the lead up the stairs. beast turned my head to look at the motion of her hips, but I shook him off. We both stopped at the attic door, somehow closed. I flew up to grab the cord and opened the flap to produce the ladder. This time I took lead to the big space above. Once we were up there, the space stretched open among the boxes and chests of unnamed things and dust. Finn the mouse’s place was out of decor, but that made it easy to find in the gallery of drab.
“What’s in all these boxes?” Rebecca asked. Her curiosity lit up as she reached for one heavily-taped box. I caught her hand and met her eyes.
“Don’t touch anything,” I said. “This is a gray area of the house. Anything is possible here, so I’d rather not create or discover anything I’d need to destroy. Let’s just focus on Finn.” I turned to the glass cage to find a figure standing at it. It was small, but definitely not human. Three tendrils extended from three locations on its body. I blinked, and just like that, it was gone. My mind matched the creature to the past. An Nth Goni, possibly the one tracking this story. It was unconventional for one to be in the story they held, but this tale was pretty new, if it was one. I still considered this the progression of my mind collapsing onto itself. Maybe I just imagined him.
“What’s wrong?” Rebecca asked.
“Nothing,” I replied and shook the thoughts off. “Just seeing things, I guess. It couldn’t be Fyntn the Third, could it? Impossible.”
“This place is your mind,” Rebecca said, suddenly super self-aware. “Nothing’s really impossible here.” I looked at her annoyed.
“Whatever, Rebby,” I said, and stepped up to the glass container. Finn was at the glass wall, sniffing the space. With a snap of my fingers, the whole contraption vanished only leaving Finn the mouse in the dull-o-sphere on the wooden floor of the attic.
“Alright,” I said, flexing my fingers. “This is going to be a trial period, so the dull-o-sphere stays on for now, but…” I motioned a palm at the mouse and closed it into a fist. He grew into a human being, as the dull-o-sphere metamorphosed to a network of flowing veins beneath Finn’s scalp, then growing hair over it. Before Rebecca got the wrong idea for the nudity, I clothed Finn and put a similar re-clothing spell on him as she wore.
“I have to get to work,” I said, but before I knew it, Finn hugged me. I could feel his muscles hold me tight and it was really weird.
“Thank you, JJ,” he said. My ears felt giddy at the sound. I’ve missed his voice.
“It’s ‘Jack’,” I replied. “JJ and I are cooperating more of late, so just call me Jack from now on. How’s the dull-o-cap?”
“Freeing,” he replied, then tried to kiss me, but I teleported to Rebecca’s side.
“Yeah, already regretting this,” I said. “But I have to go, so he’s in your more-capable hands. Remember, the dull-o-cap makes him susceptible, but don’t force him to do anything weird. Just consider him a child, alright? I’ll be back, possibly in two days.” I vanished.
